Summer Enrichment Camps

Through partnerships with area colleges/universities and local businesses, the Warren County ESC is able to provide exciting and challenging camps for Warren County students.

THE UNDERGROUND

THE UNDERGROUND FILMMAKING CAMP
Thursdays, April 20 & 27, May 4 & 11, 2017 
4:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. | $85 | Grades 4 - 6 | WCESC
Ever wanted to learn to make a movie using an iPad?  In this 4-week course students will learn the process of making a movie from start to finish.  We will be using  an iPad as our movie camera to help students learn to film with a small froup.  We will teach students the basics of storytelling, camera usage and angles, lighting and editing on iMovie.  By the end, every student will have a movie trailer and more to share with the world.  All equipment is provided.  So come and make a movie with us!  Limited to 20 students.

Home DepotHOME DEPOT CONSTRUCTION CAMP
June 5-8, 2017 or July 17-20, 2017 | 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
$80 | Grades 6 - 8 | Home Depot in Lebanon
This 4-day camp includes instruction from experts in the construction industry including:  an introduction to hand tools, measuring & cutting, framing, painting & finishing.  Using the tools that they will receive just for attending Construction Camp, students will build their own tool boxes.  They will also be building a garden table and picnic table that will be donated to WCESC Adult Connections Program.  Limited to 10 students per camp.

SINCLAIR IN MASONSINCLAIR GUITAR BUILDING CAMP
June 5-9, 2017 | 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Students will build from a kit and keep their own electric guitar, learning along the way how everyday math and science concepts apply to the guitar.  Students will also receive playing instructions.  Limited to 15 students.

Have you ever wanted to build your own mini arcade cabinet?  Students will build their own arcade cabinet to take home at the end of camp.  The arcade is based off of the single-board computer, the Raspberry Pi.  Students will learn how to solder their own microcontrollers.  Limited to 10 students per camp.

SINCLAIR IN MASON SINCLAIR WATERBOTICS STEM CAMP
June 19-23, 2017 | 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Students will have fun learning math, science, and technology skills by designing and building aquatic LEGO robots and solving four design challenges.  Lunch is provided.  Limited to 20 students.

WiSTEM (Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) Camp will explore environmental issues related to science by immersion in biology, physics, chemistry through hands-on FUN activities and field trips.  Each day students will cover a different branch of science to gain a better understanding of skills needed to work in science & engineering careers.  Limited to 20 female students.

Wilmington College is offereing Academic College Classroom Experience for Student Success (A.C.C.E.S.S.) Camp.  Current high school sophomores and juniors will have the opportunity to not only gain college preparatory skills, but also immerse themselves in real college experience.  Students will gain a valuable insight towards success and opportunity.

LEGO MINDSTORM CAMP

Students will work to solve problems through feedback provided by attaching motor, light, ultrasonic and color sensors to make the robot have specific reactions.  Each student will have the opportunity to use a variety of tem build, robot, and programming skills.  Limited to 15 students.

Students interested in the healthcare field will participate in a robust job shadowing experience.  Campers will be introduced to healthcare career programs by exposing them to different career field through instructor led lectures, engagement activities, and skill enhancement workshops.  Lunch is provided.  Limited to 25 students.
