The WCESC serves the local school districts in processing educator licensure required by the Ohio Department of Education for teachers, pupil personnel and administrators. A database is maintained of licensed educators and their credentials as a means to assist districts in keeping their employees' licensure current. Each December reminder notices with application materials and renewal instructions are sent to these educators with a license or licenses expiring the following June.
The WCESC also serves as resource to Local Professional Development Committees as well as individual educators in finding answers to their licensure questions.
